Don Camillo is great. Not just the movies, but your mini too! He's very recognizable.

Great stuff WK 8) You'll have to get Don Camillo a dog,in the short  stories he rescued him from an arse.

Was it ever described what it looked like?

Indeed, it has been awhile I believe the dog was something similar to a Pointer, basically a hunting dog.

I looked up the story and while it doesn’t actually say, your guess makes sense. Since my Camilo is from the wartime period, it would be an earlier dog. Perhaps Lightning, who died of old age. That ones breed is not described either except that he was not bred for hunting. I have a 1/35 wiener dog. Think that’ll do?  ;D

This whole project looks amazing, but I really wanted to make sure at least one vote is cast in favor of the wiener dog.

Thanks, I was getting worried. It's wearing a gasmask too, as it needs to stay safe. lol

Don Camillo!
I always loved those films - and Guareschi's books too.
Your rendition of his face is excellent, he is instantly recognizable as Fernandel.
So what about Comrade Peppone then? Not to mention his whole band - including Smilzo, my favourite, on his bike. Bit of a tall order to produce them all.
In one of the films a flashback to the war shows Don Camillo sporting a beard, but I think I prefer the classic interpretation you chose.
Something else from the films: Peppone and his Communists had a tank stowed away in a disused farm building, ready for the revolution in Italy - and he had repaired it (he's a skilled mechanic - a useful skill in these games) and was shown driving it...

Cool stuff, and superb work on them too.

A Peppone would make complete sense. I will keep an eye open for a serviceable figure to customise. Though it won’t be as perfect as the likeness on that Camillo figure of course. I do have an idea for the head I should check when I get home.

I do remember the tank as well as Don Camilla’s scruffy beard. In Peppones voice over retelling of the events, he was portrayed as a scared little priest in schril contrast to the actual events shown where Don Camillo was taking the lead.  lol
