For the (surprising) number of people who somehow missed this cult schlock classic, let me add my recommendation to fix that.  It's one of the best bad fantasy movies out there, and Jack Palance is really at his scenery-chewing finest here.  Makes Jeremy Irons in teh D&D movie look restrained by comparison.  There appears to be a pretty good upload of the film on youtube if you've got an hour and a half to spare:

Sobriety is option for viewing, of course.

well I did it ... I clicked on the 'play' button.

which now explains my chum's cryptic comment about the Abbess when I emailed him a link to this thread the other night.

Annette Crosbie - he used to exchange pleasantries with her, mutt-exercising in the environs of Merton Park ...

"He wastes his time, and mine"

"My arrow hit first"

It's a classic!

And speaking of classics I stumbled on Krull last week!

All the slow mo'

The very best

I hope you're not holding your breath on that one.  :)

Much as I love the film, I'm not sure I actually want to see it more clearly.

I also own this on DVD. One of the few movies I've bought.  I still love it and watch it all the time. It's perfect to have on in the background while painting. So many choice quotes...
