Well, that was a fun day’s gaming!  First time with all three is us in a room for five years, by my reckoning.  TWD will doubtless be along with a proper battle report, but the brief version is that history was repeated and Edward IV won the day.  Lord Hastings distinguished himself, breaking through Exeter’s men on one flank, while Gloucester captured Oxford on the other. Both Hastings and Gloucester were wounded though, while Clarence was killed in the vicious fight for the centre (that’ll save Eddie a whole deal of trouble and a vat of Malmsey in years to come).  Warwick and Montagu were last seen heading for their horses.

We also managed to join the #worldwarroses Zoom call in the afternoon- many thanks to the organisers!  The event certainly inspired us to get some painting done and get the minis on the table (my first WOTR game in maybe 15 years).  All figures painted by myself, TWD, Scrivs and Martin, who unfortunately couldn’t make it.

With thy brave bearing should I be in love,//But that thou art so fast mine enemy!

(from memory; hope I got it right!)
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

@ James Morris:

You forgot Richard of Gloucester's single combat with Margaret of Anjou, the massed cavalry (or maybe chariot) charge, the fact that George of Clarence would be played by Eddie Murphy, the scenes set in Prague morphing for St Albans, and Anne Neville's running away to Virginia with Edward of Lancaster.

Ah, and only Richard of Gloucester would have an English accent, though it would be faultless House of Lords diction.

Not sure - I forgot to include Joan of Arc and Robin Hood. No Hollywood script-scribe would be guilty of such an oversight.

Was a great day of gaming, the rules worked well the models looked splendid and much fun was had.
