Should I confess that I had him fully painted and then decided I didn't like the dagger I had in his hand, so I maimed the poor guy and painted the spike after everything else?  Failing to plan is planning to fail, as the old saying goes.  :)

At least it inspired a neat backstory, even if I cribbed it in part from an old D&D character of mine who saw vampires everywhere.  "Vampire kobolds!  Vampire giant rats!  Vampire mule!  Ahhhh!"

New post in the series, this time dwelling on a group of mercenary archers who are probably not bandits looking for easy marks to rob when they leave Felstad.  Also tweaked Hund's special rules in the previous post to give him a more characterful drawback.  He's not as sticky-fingered as One-Eyed Jacques and his lads are, if for no other reason than having fewer fingers to start with.

Meet Head Taker, a former gladiatorial champion from down south, come to Felstad while things cool down a bit back home:

A very mean looking dude. Those archers make up a handy bunch of ne'er-do-wells too.

New post in this series, this time showing off some members of the Brazen Skull Brotherhood, a mercenary company that specializes in what's euphemistically known as "adventuring work" in the trade.  Most sellswords prefer the more predictable risks of military operations or simple leg-breaking jobs, but these guys are trained for delving, monster hunting, and tagging along on heroic quests and proud of it.

They might be good at their trade, but they absolutely lack PR skills. Brazen Skull Brotherhood sounds more like a cult instead of a company of "honourable contractors" such as they are.
