This is rather apt. I've owned a copy of Congo since it came out, but have never actually played it.

If all goes well I'm having my first game on Sunday. Thanks for the reminder that I need to get a few things ready.  :)

I don't need 2 drummers, but a standard bearer and many Askari
I only have the two drummers from the blister shown below.

A knife work, three heads from the plastic Perry Sudan packet,
three rifles (possibly a bit too newer - I don't know that much) - done

Fred, do you recognize your miniatures?

Impressive and well-stage scene! Cheers!

Nice Masai headdresses.  I don't recall the Masai fighting naked waist down - is that historically accurate?  And source of Masai figures?

I don't recall the Masai fighting naked waist down - is that historically accurate?

Illustrations and descriptions from the time say so. It was pretty common in that region to have your lad out during a battle whether you were Masai or not, and modern photos of Masai engaged in traditional ceremonies also often contain images not safe for work. Those fellas aren't exactly shy, shrinking violets. :)

The figures are Copplestone-sculpted Foundry ones, from the original range that started the whole Darkest Africa craze (not sure we can call it a craze any more, as it seems to still be pretty popular after all these years).
