Granny and Nanny
« on: 11 September 2009, 07:54:16 PM »
done these as a gift for some friends...

annoyingly, as I look at them now, Nanny's face could do with bringing up a shade I think and the browns haven't quite worked on the broom and Granny's boots...

dammit... the gift giving is tomorrow - not sure whether to tinker or just leave well alone...

They look very nice and I am sure will be very well recieved.

I can see what you are saying about the browns etc. but they must have looked ok to your eye as you did them and remember that when it comes to photography of mini's the camera can certainly lie.

Superb! Gytha and Esme are two of my favourite Pratchett characters.

Whether you do more work or not, your friends are sure to love them  :D

Who makes them, by the way?

I think it's Micro Art Studios - got mine from Antenociti
http://www.barrule.com/workshop/Discworld/discworld%20miniatures.html

they are big though - not compatible with 28mm ranges which is a pity... Granny is about 36mm to the eye...

Thanks very much for the reply.

Shame they are too big for 28mm, but they are wonderful figures and I'm seriously tempted to buy them all. Certainly not cheap though, even giving GW a run for their money :-[

This is my favourite though:

You don´t expect us to be grateful for such a pun, do you? ;)

@Topic: Absolutely top-notch painting. I love the skin blendings, and the clothes are excellent as well. Not too much of a Pratchett fan myself, but those figures are great.

Those are very cool figures, and amazing painting - black is hard, and I still struggle with fleshtones!

Pity they're not regular-sized 28mm figures, I'd love to slip them into a game and see who notices the orgins of the characters.
