Citadel Gothic Horror Minis
« on: July 04, 2021, 12:48:25 AM »
I found some images recently of Citadel's old Gothic Horror and Night Terrors minis ranges reportedly from the 80's. Does anyone know who sculpted these? The styles look familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it. I think the Private Eye is Copplestone, but I could be wrong.

Aly Morrison definitely did some of them.

Ah ok. I'm not familiar with his work I don't think. He's mentioned here on the Lost Minis Wiki:

Doesn't seem like he's active.

It was recently confirmed by Ali's then-wife Trish Morrison on her fb page that she sculpted roughly a third to half the Citadel Gothic Horror range. (Her page details which.)
Adding to the confusion, some of them were resculpts of one another sculptors' work, to pad out the ranges. For example the scientist above was resculpted from the Citadel 1st Doctor (Who).

Oh that's interesting. And doubly so that he's a member here. :)

That’s pure nostalgia for me seeing these, I had lots of them when they were originally released. I might still have them somewhere!

I immediately thought Trish, she definitely did some if not most. I think Bob may have done some too.

They never really sold that well, by comparison to the main ranges, and that's why they are rarer and fetch high prices now. So if you are buying stuff to stick in the attic as an investment buy the unpopular ranges as illogical as that sounds.

@Nick - Aren't some of your Citadel figures in the FFOL "Tales of Horror" supplement?

@Svenn - I did notice prices on those are quite hefty. To say the least.  ::)

Some of my figures are in there, but not the Citadel ones.

Ah ok. I stand corrected. A quick peek thru the supplement, I see they belong to BaronVonJ.
