There appears to be a lot of wonderful and excellent 28mm figures on this board but not much 1/72, so I thought I'd fly my low-budget-freak-flag... Here are some of the
Zvezda '100 Years War French Infantry' I've been working on over the past few weeks.
To be sure, there are
slim-pickings at this scale, so I can understand why 28mm is so popular. I just can't really afford to splurge that much on the hobby at the moment, and 1/72 hits the sweet spot for me. A few months ago, I dipped my toe into wargaming beyond WW2 and I painted up some Airfix 'Sheriff of Nottingham' just for shits & giggles, but now I'm kind of hooked.
My painting is never going to get to a diorama-level of perfection, but these Zvezda figures look pretty cool using the old '3ft from the table' standard.
I started playing Lion Rampant this year so these figures will be used for that ruleset. These French will be facing off against my 'Sheriff of Nottingham' for the time being.
I tried to give these figures some kind of accuracy but truth be told...I'm still learning so I'm sure there's a fair bit that's not accurate. I put photos of the rest of the box up on my hobby-blog-diary (another thing that's very new to me...likewise posting pictures haha always seem to stuff something up...).
All the best, take care.
