I have wanted to diversify my Eastern agriculture fields for a while now and at the same time build something that wouldn't be out of place in China, the Philippines, or the Dutch East Indies. I decided to go against the common grain of wet rice fields and go with the typically more upland dry rice agriculture. Terracing is an agriculture intensification method found in all three regions and I think gives some added interest to a terrain piece. Per usual, I based the piece on a plastic backed cork coaster and built up the terrain using cork tile.
Here is some initial work.

Here the piece is with the "masonry" finished. The "stone stacking" took a lot longer than I thought that it might. Heck, making the stones took longer than I thought

. The bright white that you can see is textured plastic sheeting that will be painted to be a stone pathway.

Next up will be to spackle and texture the hill side, cut and install the growing crop, the excedingly tedious thin spackling of the interior of the terraces around the crops, and then painting.
Looking back I would have increased the verticality between terraces. I am considering building a pole structure watch tower for the right side of the field but I will be a separate piece for ease of storage and transport.
I think that this field has potential to be a nasty surprise for passing patrols of a varierty of nationalities, having both hard cover and over view,
