Tram lines and Train tracks

Ok say that I whant to represent sets of tram lines runing through a urban street (forget the overhead lines at the moment) what would be the best way of doing it and what scale to use ? Do I use a smaller scale such as 15/20 mm to represent 28mm scale section of tram lines or would it be easlier to take the rails seperate cut apporate "groves" in the street and "lay" them the problem with that maybe trying to bend the rails (if stright).

there are plastic street sections with tram lines available from some railway modelist, in HO
you can also buy bendable styrene rails and glue them on

I'd use 0 gauge set track - straights, curves and turnouts available.
Stick the track onto your baseboard and then build up the road surface to level with the top of the tracks. This can be touching the outside of the track and leaving a groove on the inside to allow for the wheel flanges.

You could also check out one of the Railway Modelling mags as they frequently have descriptions of how things like this are done.

So its off to WH Smiths for the latest "Model Railer" or such  Wasn't to sure as to how I was going to go about it and in particular the "look" of it as its been ages since I've seen tram tracks in the flesh looks like trying both -maybe one will be more suitable for large(ish) terrain and the other such as bendable rails on some model bases. thanks

I made these modular street sections from 1mm polystyrene sheet, glued H0 tracks on them and finally put foam cobblestone pavement on top.
