Years ago I picked up the Renedra American Church, last week I decided to get the it built!

I was surprised that the way this kit was designed to be constructed the roof was not removable! Now how to get that sorted. My first option I decided wouldn't work but came up with a simple change requiring just one bit of 'surgery'.

The instructions...

Going by the instructions the front of the steeple is attached to the front wall of the church and the other three sides need to be glued to it once the roof is in place. Okay the fix is relatively simple, cut the front of the steeple off the front wall so the steeple can be assembled as a single unit and the glued to the roof, this completed top half of the church can then be easily removed so miniatures can be moved around!

The front wall with the steeple section removed so it can be glued to the rest of it and the roof assembly...

My American Church in one piece...

...and in two...

Very nicely done

I was rather underwhelmed by this range of kits - there is no interior detail, in fact its worse as it has negative impressions of the outside, as you have found they aren’t designed to be accessible (which perhaps links to the above), and they are fairly small scale wise
