After a couple of years building lots of Age of Sail ships I thought it would make a pleasant detour to share some of the love to my AWI collection of 28mm Perry Miniatures that have been patiently awaiting the brush.

The collection was started in September 2019 with the building of elements of Sir John Johnson's King's Royal Regiment of New York and I have gradually added more miniatures to enable a Mohawk Valley range of units to be created around them.

The eventual aim will be to field forces representing both sides at the Battle of Klock's Field 19th October 1780 and some of the other smaller engagements fought along the Niagara, Champlain frontier.

Often it is better to remain silent and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all possible doubt.

JJ,

Super theme for your troop builds here, and nice blog post to inspire us around the thinking for your chosen approach.

I've also begun the transition of my rounders-based minis (but for an ACW collection), with plans to use them on sabot bases.  Since I'm here in the USA, I instead went with a domestic producer for these  - by Terrain Genesis, but Supreme Littleness were also tops for consideration.

We'll be enjoying seeing your pics/post as you move forward the project here!

Hi Chaps,
Thank you for your comments and glad you like the new additions.

FlyXwire - I’m not a fan of sabot bases, but have gradually become more accepting of them as I, like many others, have been caught up in the fashion of skirmish level gaming and so anything that can reduce the profile of them and thus make them less obtrusive is to my mind a good thing.

I look forward to posting some AAR’s with the collection once they’re done.

Cheers
JJ
