The Underdeep - search for the Necronomicon
« on: November 03, 2021, 12:13:25 AM »
We recently tried a Lovecraftian version of The Underdeep (a dungeon crawl game using Mana Press' Tribal rule system).

The game uses adventurer archetypes (mage, archer, thief, warrior, cleric etc...) which became their early 20th century equivalents ( arcanist professor, shotgun dame, ruffian, police officer, priest..). They fought off deep ones and cultists in chaotic labyrinth somewhere in Massachusetts. The Professor found the Necronomicon, but forgot the last of the magic words needed to release it... instead releasing an otherworldly horror. The priest managed to escape with the book, but the interdimensional rift was left un-sealed..........

Wonderful, I'm loving the resurgence of interest in this board.  Thanks for the great pics and AAR.

Really good idea to play Dungeon crawlers with a call of cthulhu setting!
I love the miniatures and terrain!

Everything is better with more Cthulhu. Awesome looking game set up and kudos for the idea of adapting it to the Mythos. As always thanks for sharing.

Great looking minis and game set up. Looking forward to seeing more of these dungeon crawls set in the mythos.
