These are the voyages of campaign.
« on: November 08, 2021, 01:06:36 PM »
Mike & I have just started to play a Sci-Fi campaign, that we have been talking about and planning for a long while. We are calling it 'These are the voyages of...' as it follows the fortunes and misfortunes of a Challenger Class Starship's crew, the United Confederation of Planets UCP 4-51 Endeavor.

The campaign is inspired by Star Trek, but is certainly not based on Star Trek. I was born in 1965, I can remember watching the original series when I was growing up and was a big fan of the Next Generation. Recently I have been listening and reading some novels and audio books, and have enjoyed a few episodes of Enterprise and Voyager, so the Trek universe has always been there in the background. The idea of our campaign is to take the premise of a Starship crew exploring the galaxy and hopefully mainly doing the right thing and apply it to a new crew, with new races and new characters.

The other aspect of the campaign, is that we are planning to tell the crews story using a wide range of different game systems. The first 'pilot' episode 'Prisoner of the K'Plah' was played using Pulp Alley. We are planning to replay the scenario this week using 7TV. Future episodes will be played using Combat / Star Patrol, Stargrave, Force on Force and many other systems.

I have a full write up with lots of photos of our first game on my Hobby Blog. I have also made the Pulp Alley character cards that we used available as a free download. You can check it out @ http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/These-are-the-voyages-of/Captains-Log/Pilot-episode-Prisoner-of-the-KPlah
