Blogs are my preferred way to follow longform hobby output too, but I suppose a forum works well as a next-best way to stumble across new projects!

In one of the job lots I found a few samples from different Ground Zero Games which went together and looked generic enough to represent Unity's finest for 5 Parsecs. An official source states that the resemblance between Unity's uniform and that of the deranged cultists is purely coincidental.

Sinister? The grunts for a galaxy-spanning faceless administration? Perish the thought  lol

Due to my own administrative error, got two campaign turns to catch up on.

For campaign turn 2, the bounty hunting crew fight to escape a bug pod invasion.

In campaign turn 3, the crew begin their first quest: searching for some old friends who've been listed as bounties. Some other bounty hunters are trying to get there first...

Good game, and the terrain looks great!

Wow, i’m really liking that terrain, and the detail on walls and corridors!  Fantastic.

Were I to do another sci fi case, I'd definitely look to do something else for the room floors - the one element of that board that I'm really not happy with.

Just in case Rumsoy's old contacts turn out to need miniatures, I did painted up some not-Firefly comrades.

The corridor floors are amazing, though. One quick solution might be to check out your local craft store for different kinds of craft paper -- meant for calligraphy, I think? Or scrapbooking? Lots of colors, textures, and styles. I used one as the basis for my space station floors (see the metallic floor below).

I think you have an amazing setup, and nothing to be ashamed of...!  :-*

Paper's not a bad shout. I have been struck by some toilet paper patterns; there are some nice hexagonal ones out there! How did you 'set' your floors? PVA and water?

I'd probably do the corridors again with cable ties, like this:

And wider too, having the benefit of having played in the case. Bit more room for fingers!

Yes, wider is definitely better!  I really love your detailed photos.

I actually tried spray adhesive. I cut the both plastic surface I was gluing the paper onto and the scrapbook paper to the size I wanted. I then sprayed both surfaces and set them together. It joined like rubber cement, with a nice firm grip. Toilet paper is very thin, but I have seen those hex patterns on paper towels. That would be thicker and might take wear better.

Love the corridor -- looks amazing and very Sci-Fi!

I worry that kitchen towel might have just a bit too much texture; tends to have more of those absorbing indents than bog roll.! The current batch of bog roll we got turned out to be the scented kind, though, so I'll have to be careful; grimy space corridors don't scream 'lavender'!

Who sells that “RD3” robot (the red one)?

It's from Alternative Armies' Laserburn range.

Had to cancel an RPG session, so go out the miniatures and played a campaign turn instead: the depleted crew of the Rusty Gull try their hand at a salvage operation.

A more in depth account of the game on the blog.

After the second turn I never got above minimal tension on the tracker before it converted into a possible contact marker. Fortunately the crew aiming was on song with a perfect hit and wound record, including a trio of rival salvage hunters with a single shot from the bot's shell gun. The only potentially dangerous Point of Interest ended up being the biggest salvage earner instead. All in all, a pretty straightforward run for the crew, but with the post-game character event taking Wixoda away for a few turns we will be down to two participants for the next few battles.
