Last Monday we met for giving a first try to TooFatLardies'
Bag the Hun air combat ruleset --specifically, their
Ahh Condor SCW supplement. It was a lot of fun despite our obvious inexperience.
As a pretty short AAR, we threw a Republican NiD-52 section and a Nationalist He-51 section against each other, to see what would happen – and if we were capable of sorting it out. Each section was composed by a veteran, a trainee and a sprog as pilots. In both cases, the veteran one performed as section leader too.
We used some home made aircaft data sheets and initiative cards (these latter, heavily customized), as well as a couple of toy seaplanes in the role of 'bogeys' (=unspotted planes). Where those seaplanes from Kinder eggs I guess? I can't remember.

Soon both sections spotted to each other and started approaching with murderous intentions.

Heinkels soon took advantage of their higher MAN to outmanoeuvre the Nieuports and take on the tail of one of them – but their fire resulted ineffective and had to disengage due to their also higher SPD.

On their side, the Republican formation got disrupted while trying to evade Heinkels attack, but then they cleverly took advantage of such dispersion to counterattack the enemy by the rear and left side altogether (after some slow manoeuvrings I'm better going to spare you

).

However, their fire resulted quite ineffective too. At that point we put an end to the game, feeling quite satisfied on how it had gone despite inexperience.
We had a great time with it!
Models of this very first trial are Reviresco 1:144 painted by myself, finished up with home made decals. More models from other brands (Minairons' own included), hopefully soon!
