The 7th US Cavalry patrolling the plains:
She wore a yellow ribbon,
She wore a yellow ribbon in the merry month of May!

Love the bit with the wagons with the rolled up canvas - great detail, especially the leather straps!  Count that idea for the sincerest form of flattery.

Nice grouping of civilians.  All nicely painted.

Now, from earlier posts in this thread, your companies are nine figures, you had five command figures, all good, 32 figures mounted with three companies, similar dismounted.

But!

I count at least 34 mounted figures in your column photo with what looks like four more in the background but mostly cut off "at the knees" so to speak.  What gives there, buddy!?  Inquiring eyes want to know (even if our 'minds' are only alleged lol)

There is definitely a dismounted miniature for every mounted, someone must have gone AWOL while I was taking the photos.

Loving this thread.  Well-painted figures and terrain.  But now I have She Wore a Yellow Ribbon running though my head... :D

Nice village and like that you added the canoes, especially the paddles - though not so common on the plains maybe.  Yes, I am sure they were used but I can't think of a single inclusion of canoes during anything I've read of the Plains Wars - perhaps an odd omission in what I've read.  Definitely got me thinking about the topic.

I would have kept the canoes on a separate element.  Hopefully not too odd that the canoes are in such a small body of water!  :D.  (You can tell folks they are kept there to keep them moist and useable.  ::))
