So I found a very useful site which presents info. on the uniforms and standards at the Battle of Blenheim.
However, it doesn't provide any information on British drummers. I assume that they all have reversed facings...
Except for regiments with 'BLUE' facings (Guards Regiments) which have regular facings like the other ranks.
Then I come to the Earl of Angus's Regiment of foot.
It's a Scottish regiment, with a Scottish Standard (Cross of St. Andrew on a blue field)
And the facings are WHITE.
Continental drummers in regiments with white facings (sort of, sometimes) do not reverse the facings on their drummers,
but keep the same 'regular' facings as the other ranks.
Does anyone know if this is true for the above British/Scottish regiment at Blenheim ?
Or if I'm over thinking this, and the drummer should be a a white tunic with red facings?
Thanks,
MW
