Quick muster for a demo game this weekend, although set around 1521 so the Borgias no longer on the political scene! Plenty of fashion fau pas and flouncy shirts!

So day one started ok, plenty of long range skirmishing and flinging of insults. in the centre the Swiss have been advancing as fast as the dice allow. on the flanks skirmish types have been acting lke the unruly louts that they are with the Florentine chaps taking the olive grove.

On the French left the household Gendarmes nearly charged the Florentines only moved one move leaving their front rank in  range of an Italian light gun which disorderd the front rank. Sensing a glorious glorious victory the Italians nearl charged, managing to only move one move forwards! laughing the French Gendarmes decided to gloriously rout the scummy Italians, threw a double 6, blunder! A further 6 saw them going backwards 2 moves!!

The Spanish Colunias on the other flank have just stood around getting shot at by two large guns and forgetting to rally, both are now shaken!

Looked wonderful in the flesh today! I spoke with your opponent but you were deep in conversation with somebody when I came by. A great setup though - hope it continues to a conclusion tomorrow

Looks good 👍

How is Beachhead? A friend of mine runs the MEG competition there and we used to run 2 conventions a year at Henry Harbin School, Poole back in the 70’s when the South Dorset Military Society was an active club.

Beachhead was busy, both in the traders/games hall and next door in the competition hall. twill be interesting to see how tomorrow goes as in 2020 it was a one day affair, bar the competition hall.

Day 2, solo game! In the left the French Gendarmes have advanced and will probably have to endure an unsupported charge by the Italians. On the right a Spanish Colunia broke after enduring too much artillery fire. In the centre the left Swiss column managed to charge and despite being disordered by canon fire broke a unit of Landsknechts with a second supporting unit breaking, both then disordering the units behind them! This was an important stage so a couple of passing boys, under supervision of their father threw all of the dice!
