I have ordered, & received the rules.
I like what I see, but why oh why are the
reference sheets bound into the rules.
If I want a QRS (& I do) I am left with
the following options:-
Vandalise the book, to cut out the pages,
Try & photograph the pages with out bending the spine or
break the spine so as to photocopy them.

I understand the 'argument' about naughty people
just using the QRS, but the 'naughty people' will wreck
one copy then get their money back by flogging copies
amongst their contacts.

The very first rules I ever bought (WRG Ancients) back
in the 1960s included two QRS for players.
Why have we gone backwards?

I am quite prepared to pay for QRS (even multiple sheets).
Why this modern malaise of treating customers this way?

Has.been. I share you pain and completely agree. For one set of rules I was forced to produce my own QRS with all the data. It took me hours but was worth it. As you say exceedingly frustrating.

You say you like what you see. Can you say more? I am thinking of buying either these or “Setting the East Ablaze” v2. Don’t really want to buy both unless they are complementary and give very different games.

 Regards.

Can't comment on Setting the East Ablaze
(I ain't got a copy), but from various comments
(on LAF & other places) I get the feeling that
BtE is large skirmish. That is about 50 figures per
player, while STEA is for full blown armies (200+ figs ?)

I don't think you could play rules lawyers with BtE, but
a few mates, out for a laugh & pushing some pretty toys
around nice scenery, they should do fine.
After Saturday I will be better placed to comment.
Flatpack, at whose shed the game will be held, is very
good at putting on a nice show. He also will normally
put up an AAR here on LAF, so look out for it.
There are (on the Caliver site) 3 pages to allow BtE
to be played solo.

Just a crying shame they don't do a similar QRS. ???

Has.been, thanks. Having a read-out after your game would be excellent as I plan to buy some rules at Hammerhead in 2 weeks time. I have Back-of-Beyond Red Russians, Chinese and British. Probably 100-150 figures per army so more than BtE but quite small by Setting the East Ablaze standards.
