Over the Hills and Far Away...Matakishi's Tea House
« on: 09 April 2022, 09:56:45 PM »
Probably doesn't fit the Big Battalions

but I've been looking for something Silver bayonet like but without the Supernatural

'Suitable for 2-6 players each controling 6-10 individual characters'.

Sounds interesting

Just wondering if the collective can offer more of an insight?

On the lookout for 10mm Magister Militum Fantasy figures, halflings and woodelves in particular

While I haven't played Silver Bayonet, you could probably just ignore the supernatural side and just use it rather than adding another ruleset.

There's a few people who are doing a similar thing with Frostgrave as a more general medieval skirmish...and they did have a couple games of Stargrave for a modern one (Not sure if they're doing more as they shifted to gaming on a different night...swapping with a GorkaMorka campaign that's been ongoing for a long while)

Have a look at the Fist Full of Lead 'stable' of rules.

They have black powder specific rule set that works a treat. I've been using it with war bands of three to eight per side, and even when you mix cavalry and infantry, it makes for a great play.

Quite possibly the best set of Napoleonic skirmish rules in the world.

over the hills - very good. Nicely presented PDF too - a no brainer for the cost to check out.

FFoL of course

the 'songs of' Nap variant should be worth a look
