Phoenix Wargames Show, Cumbria - any news?
« on: May 06, 2022, 03:52:01 PM »
Hi all

Just wondered if anyone had heard anything concerning this lovely little local show this year? I think one of the organisers posted on here once over...?

Checking the Facebook page the last update is from three months ago saying the venue at Rheghed in Penrith has decided not to hold any more outside events which is a real shame shame it was excellent.

The organisers were looking at alternatives nearer Carlisle but since then, nada...

It usually runs late June so if they are going ahead they've left it a bit late to advertise.  :?

Hi,

I’m the organiser of the show. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to find a suitable/affordable/available venue within the time we allowed so this year again we won’t be holding the show.

Hopefully next year we’ll be able to find somewhere suitable.

Thanks for your interest. Hopefully see you at a local show soon!

Hi
Thank you for the reply.
That's a real shame, being out West it was a brilliant change to have a show that didn't need hours of driving to get to.

I really hope you can find a venue for next year as until the Plague put a stop to anything fun it was fast becoming a multi generational annual highlight for the Bob family.

Best of luck!

Have you tried contacting the Shakespeare Centre Kendal? A chap who used to be the manager at GW Kendal (he left GW 2 or 3 years ago) used to run Warhammer tournaments at the Shakesphere Centre. Might be worth a try.
