Hello,
I am a big fan of this period and decided some years ago to collect 28mm minis for the French army to make a diorama of the siege of Puebla in 1863.
Mainly because I like this strange and fantasy 1861-1868 uniform.
Certainly a merited tribute to Guard Chasseurs but more adapted for a parade rather than for combat.
There are not a lot of manufacturers proposing minis with this uniform.
Wargames Foundry with Maximilian Adventure and the Cameron legionnaires
Perry Miniatures with War of Triple Alliance
Battle Honors 1859 range but Guard light infantry only (in kepi and shako)
Great War miniatures with Crimean War Guard Chasseurs in shako
The Virtual Armchair General with Viva Juarez
Gringo40s
Irregular Miniatures (some)
Soldiers also had greatcoat, with models 1859 and 1861 so in fact it opens also new perspectives: Franco Prussian war could match, as French Foreign Legion (Beau Geste), Crimean war.
I personally do sometimes some conversion on the trousers with Green Stuff to look larger, or add shoulder pads, or backpack with full gear.
I do also some conversion on Crimean War Wargames Foundry to match the best French Marines uniform.
