Having worked out where I would store them, I bought 5 of the 1200mm x 500mm x 500mm pink styrofoam panels from B&Q at £3.78 each.

Moving over to a foam panel system means that I will be able to sink the water into the table, which will add absolutely nothing to the mechanics of gaming but which will be (for me) more aesthetically pleasing.

Good man! Quite right. You won't regret it  ;)

The plans look fiendishly complicated to me, but your scientific approach seems to pay dividends, so I'm sure this will work out beautifully.

Believe it or not I am starting to understand your plans now. It must be all the past experience of them. o_o
In your plans you could introduce even more complicated arrangements by buy cutting the board length to 1000mm. This would allow two boards side by side to match up with one placed length ways along the top or bottom. The mind boggles about the amount of combinations with five boards. ;D ;D ;D
I will leave that to you to work out :D

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://tistaminis.com/

Coming on great :-* :-*
I still find it strange when you use the felt for the water.

Very intriguing with the felt idea.

So far its looking excellent and I really hope the felt works out ok. I can't see how its not going to look like felt covered with varnish  ???

Fingers crossed for you as so far I have really liked all your projects. :)

It's always worrying to see the white when using varnish as a water effect. I used Future/Klear polish for a project and found it's all down to allowing it time to set/dry. Rest assured, it will turn clear.  :)
