Looking for some light artillery for near future and science fiction games, I kitbashed some howitzers using plastic pieces from several manufacturers and it worked out quite all right. Managed to assemble a small battery of three light howitzers suitable for near future and science fiction games to equip for example colonial marines, etc These are equipped with some kind of autoloaders that were part of the Wargames Atlantic mortar and add some futuristic appearance to the artillery pieces.

- Rubicon Models: Spare Tank Wheels (Grey) and Half Oil Barrel (Green)
- Games Workshop: Catachan Heavy Weapons Gun Barrels (Light Grey)
- Wargames Atlantic: Grognard Heavy Weapons Carriage and Artillery Base (Dark Grey)

Quite straightforward with some minor cutting but looks quite pleasing, though it was worthwhile to share.

Those look excellent, great kitbashes! Do you have models in mind for the crews? I imagine the stargrave sets could provide some good options, but that would depend on the style you’re after.

Thanks, not sure yet on the crew as I will base the artillery and crew on separate bases so they can be used by multiple factions by just switching the crew. Hadn't though of the Stargrave miniatures might be a good source for relatively low-tech soldiers, thanks for painting out that option.

That is actually a well-done conversion.

Looks great!
I think without meaning too, you just built an elevated barrel, shield-less version of the 2nd-edition WH40k Imperial Guard autocannon.  And I mean that in a good way.
Oldhammer-licious!

Thanks everybody for the nice comments,

as you mention they indeed look very similar and remind me that I have some of those stashed away somewhere too :)
