King Mal'tesa
« on: 12 October 2009, 02:05:32 PM »
I have recently been re-basing and sprucing up my Darkest Africa collection to use with Chris Peers latest rule set "Death in the Dark Continent"

Here is King Mal'tesa of the Baganda not to be confused with his historical counterpart King Mtesa

There are pictures of some of his warriors over on my website

Very nice Phil.  8)

What did you use for the 'fencing' behind his highness? Looks very effective.

Stirling work, Phil. Great stuff.

You know, that fellow on the left with the spear is actually meant to be a figure of Mtesa. But of course you wouldn't want him as your fellow is a totally different chap.  :) If your bloke mirrors him though, you could do another version for later years, as it seems he adopted Arab garb in the 1870s. And will he get a unit of musket-armed amazons too?

Incidentally, I used my Mtesa as a Nandi chieftain. So if I ever want to do Baganda I'm going to have to get another bleeder.

Ah well spotted, the guy in the centre is a decoy for the real Mtesa you see :)

I have 3 musket armed amazons, I will have to look out for more. I am sure I have an Arab figure somewhere that I could convert at some time.

Super job.

One is nicely rewarded by clicking on your album and seeing them up close!

Great little scene. For a minute I thought we were going to see a Maltese king!  lol
