18mm Gitungi Mechs - 3D Printed
« on: 25 July 2022, 01:08:55 PM »
Hello again all,
These are my take on Gitungi mechs.

I found an art model on sale at Daz3d  https://www.daz3d.com/heavy-mech and since it is very similar to a Gitungi decided to convert it to a 3mf then to stl. The crew are converted from a DutchMogul model.

Models made for art purposes ( & there are splendid ones to be found ) are usually more finely detailed than those designed for printing so I had to remove tiny parts which would prove problematic in printing & strengthen the ankles etc. It does take time but worth it in the end.

I think it fits the bill perfectly.
The infantry & vehicles are here https://castrarunis.blogspot.com/2020/03/gitungi-by-micropanzer.html & here https://castrarunis.blogspot.com/2020/11/finished-prime-movers-gitungi-vehicles.html

Thank you both  :D
I noticed that the camera shows errors in my painting which are not visbile when one looks at the models.
Oh well as I always say, if it looks good then it's good.

Dan , he's this one.
Though I had to fix all 3 with milliput on their top parts as they ended half printed !!!. Dutchmogul has great & free minis, so do look around his stuff whilst on cults3d or thingyverse.

I did mine like the micropanzer Gitungi , so about 16 to 17mm , though he can be as tall as you want him to be if you scale him for printing.

They remind me of the Mondoshawans from the 5th element for some reason.

They look great.

I do see what you mean, but the painted and based fellows had me thinking a bit more SF3D.

Continuing my heels-in-ground vis-a-vis isn't getting easier with product like this...

Thank you.
I tend to agree with beast , if they were slimmer they would be perfect as Mak's. I think they can be manipulated for Sf3D, though there are already 3D models available for them.

Cook it's around 42mm high.
