brass wire / rod
« on: July 25, 2022, 06:27:26 PM »
Does anyone have a line on small diameter brass rod - other than K&S (which doesn't go below .020") ?

I had some .016" stuff from a company called "Special Shapes", but have failed badly in finding some more.

State side, Ace hardware has rolls of extremely fine brass wire.  When I lived there that is where I picked mine up.

I haven't ordered from them directly, but I've used Phosphor Bronze wire from Tichy Train Group for my miniatures.

Depending upon how long you need it to be, look up lace pin suppliers.  In the UK that gives a vast array of lengths and diameters.  Brass pin wire should also give you some options.

Thanks, all.  The train supply place looks to be the ticket...now if I can only place an order without getting sucked into their "ooo, shiny" bits!
