Help needed to ID these figures
« on: August 01, 2022, 10:41:12 AM »
I don't know where I got these figures of female archers from. I thought maybe Reaper but I searched through their site and no luck. Can the hive mind please help?

Thanks in advance!
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

I think the left side one is Hobby Product/Mega Minis or one of the IWM/RP/RPE/DSA ranges (I am never sure who sells what amongst those ranges).

The one on the right looks like a David Sonderquist sculpt so could be Bronze Age or one of the ranges he commissions for.

Thanks robh. I checked out all those leads as far as I could get but no luck.

They look a bit Shadowforge-ish to me. Not that I’m any expert in fantasy miniatures genres… but they have that skinny, slightly old-school look.

I don't think they're Shadowforge as there's not enough cleavage and they lack the surprised blow-up doll look that SF go for.

To be honest, I'm not sure the second one is a female, has something of a young male tribal warrior look, I feel? Or maybe they just choose their own pronouns, I dunno.

Might it be worth popping the first one off the card base and seeing if there's anything stamped on the integral?

That's strange, the left one looks familiar to me. I've even looked at my very old Wood Elves to see if I owned her (what a shame not to be sure!) but not found her yet. Then I thought she may be in the Forlorn Hope Games catalog but not either.

I agree -  I am getting a late 90's Alternative Armies vibe; but a (very quick) skim of the website doesn't seem to be throwing up a match

I always  file the base real thin during the clean up phase so any info there is now lost. They got primed and undercoated long ago. The second one was actually a slotta base that I have filed down as I don't like them. Just had a close scrutiny of that one. You might be right about the gender! The casting is very androgenous to be sure.

The other one is by EXCALIBUR, but I have yet to find out which one...

I was thinking alternative Armies as well, but evidently not.

As for stottas, I've had really good luck trimming them down to one peg per foot and then making two holes in whatever base I was using.  Makes for a quick and extremely strong mount.

Not sure what your squares are though. If they're metal than maybe just ignore the peg-and hole method.
