More Swedish Cavalry
« on: August 15, 2022, 08:13:27 AM »
Just completed a new unit of 28mm Swedish cavalry for the Thirty Years War using figures from 1898 miniatures.

Excellent. Pistols in the front rank, swords in the second, which is what I believe they did.

Thank you all, your comments are very much appreciated! 👍

@Paul Richardson - good spot!  :D  You are right; pistols in the first rank, and following with cold steel, was apparently GA’s instruction to his cavalry.

Those look great!  How big are the bases you put them on?

Many thanks, Aphila !  :D

I originally used the classic 50mm x 50mm sized base for two mounted figures.  Current horses seemed to be often too ‘long’ to fit on this size without extending over the base edge (risking chipping etc.).  I have therefore changed to 50mm width and 60mm depth.  Hopefully not too noticeable on the table, but saves the horses’ legs!

(They are 2mm thick MDF from those wonderful people at Warbases.)
