Fun looking scatter terrain!
But for a little critique from a native who has hiked along the National Park's Minuteman Trail in all seasons of the year, I would never have guessed that was April along the battle road. Nice peak autumnal colour you've got there.
In early spring, the tall grasses would be quite beige and dead from the winter, with shorter new green grass growing up under. Maybe some taller sprays of light green, but not red. If the sapling had leaves, they would be a light and bright green; if it was an oak sapling, it would be bare but with ruddy new buds at the tips of all the twig branchlets.
[The trail is always a lovely hike if anyone comes visiting!]
