Last week at club we had a very 'enjoyable' refight of the Battle of Breed's/Bunker Hill, though once again, I managed to snatch a humiliating defeat from the jaws of victory (it's a rare gift)...

Nicely done and nicely related. A pity that the tea-despoiling tax evaders didn’t get their comeuppance. Now they’ll just create some absurd foundation myth that describes the whole thing as a ‘revolution’ and suffer the consequences of their hubris for centuries to come.

What a splendidly played and reported affair!  Except for the whole "not taking the works" part, it seems to have been a historically accurate day for His Majesty's goons, er, I mean, troops.  But it did take more than one expensive stab at it for the British to win the day.  In any event, well done lad!

Thanks fellas.  Yes, if we'd had longer to play, we'd have gone for a bit of artillery prep first and then put in a second attack with Clinton, but time was pressing.  We'd originally planned to play it over a whole Saturday, but sickness stopped play on that occasion and we were just left with an evening, sadly.
