Campaign to end Wargames Cruelty against Teddy Bears
« on: October 20, 2022, 08:33:25 AM »

For once I want to be serious and shed light on a cruel and growing practice within our hobby.

Gangs of Wargamers are cruelly shaving children's teddy bears and using them for something they call terrain.

This dreadful practice must stop, Teddy Bears and Beardogs are becoming endangered, please watch the information video on the Yarkshire Gamer Utubes Channel for more information.

Together we can stop this cruel trade. #StoptheShave

It’s much worse than that. Teddies are being recruited as child soldiers.

I had no idea - I thought teddy bear fur was a sustainable product! I will be sharing this news widely. It’s simply shocking!

German Police are investigating a recent sale of rare Steiff bear that was believed to have gone bald through old age and use. It turns out that a sinister wargaming poaching gang had cruelly shaved the hair off to sell off as thatching for Viking 28mm roofing on a popular modelling forum about lead soldiers  :o

I've shaved a bear* and I'll do it again! Twice if I miss a spot!

*I haven't, I don't know why you would need to.

I think it's called man-scaping these days and it's widely done, apparently. No need to explain your preferences or reasons to us old boy. In fact, I suspect most would be grateful if you didn't.  Just be careful around those sensitive and tricky bits with the acute angles :D

You just don't understand the ways of the countryside.  The feckin' things run wild around here; surprising people in the woods, mugging people for picnics, forcing themselves on to people for unwanted cuddles...

God forbid that they should ever find a plate of marmalade sandwiches!  They don't just eat one because they're hungry.  They'll shred the whole lot in crazed sugar-lust!

We therefore manage the population in a sustainable manner, only taking the sick and lame and using every part of the animal.  The guts are used for smoke, the eyes for disorder markers and the noses we melt down to make Liquorice Allsorts.
Suffering from insomnia?  Too much excitement in your life?  Jemima Fawr's Miniature Wargames Blog might be just the solution you've been looking for: www.jemimafawr.co.uk

The Anti-Alchemists ensure proper adult supervision is in place at all times to ensure that only sustainably-sourced Teddy Fur is used to provide the desired effect:

I’ve been working on combining belly button lint, toe jam and nasal hair trimmings as a sustainable alternative for terrain making. Quite a way to go in terms of the aesthetics but I suspect it will keep the table free of roaming hands.

Perhaps a little patchouli in the mix to freshen it up? Or other aromatics...

Failing that, I'd say there's some 40k worlds where that combination will easily fit better than boring old fur. Proper Papa Nurgle-approved terrain that! Maybe you could get GW interested in a licensing deal?

 lol lol lol

Once upon a time there were three bears .... now look how many of the furry little sods there are! Shave the Bears!

There again, as a student I had what was sold as the ultimate protest t-shirt which had a picture of a panda above a legend that read "Nuke the gay whales for Jesus!" So my protesting credentials may be a little shaky.

I have to second this. These Teddy Bears have to be freed.
