Thanks again!

Here's some ancient Chinese from Eureka. I really like these models, but the detail can be rough, faces in particular.

This isn't a Eureka Miniatures thing, more the sculpts/acquired ranges I think. Compare these to the casts of Eureka's chaos fantasy or Moorcock ranges and there's no comparison.

Similar to their Portuguese & Conquistadors, I really like the overall look enough to paint them.

Some more Paperboys terrain. Enough to be useful in a game now!

Great stuff, very eclectic!

The paper terrain works well - probably because it has nicely varied art work on it.

I'm trying some lighter bases... I started to feel dark brown for smaller miniatures all looks the same and kind of hides the model itself if that makes sense. Especially darker paint schemes.

For my basing I have settled on round bases of various sizes with black and grey drybrushed textured bases with either back or dark grey edges for my sci-fi stuff and
square bases of various sizes with black and brown drybrushed textured bases with brown edges for my fantasy/historical stuff.
There is some wriggle-room with this system, i.e. Space Marine bikes on rectangular bases but black/grey and chaos hounds also on rectangular bases with black/brown.

Shows the start of my hobby with GW I`m pretty sure  lol

Back to 28mm today, more Eureka Miniatures Chinese.

Made-up colour schemes, they're fantasy, not historical!

Single pose figures, for some reason I find them relaxing.

I seem to paint them in between much newer figures as a pallet cleanser.

With all the talk of RAFM going under, here's a hippogryph, painted about 10 years ago but is one of my first "big monster" models. Actually it was.my brother's, used in Warhammer!

It's interesting to see what different supplier's models ended up in my collection. Australia in the 90s, I'd collect citadel for my Warhammer armies, but supplement them with monsters and characters from other suppliers since it was so much cheaper!

Good job on that hippogriff! The eyes turned out especially well, and the feathers.

Your situation for collecting figures in Australia sounds similar to what I faced living in a smaller community in Canada - not much available locally for figures. In the 1980s there were no shops nearby that focused on games, so we got by on whatever we could find in the toy stores and hobby shops that had a rack or two of “D&D” figures. Limited is an understatement, so a variety of stuff ended up on the game table. We still had fun, though!

Hi all, and thanks Pattus Magnus for the kind words earlier!

Some 15mm/18mm Eureka uruks today. They're going to be used as vampire troops. Armoured are actual vampires, unarmoured are less fortunate thralls.

Hope you like!

Great stuff on this thread! Are those Eureka guys with the wolf/dog helmets a few posts back 28mm or smaller?
Thanks!
