True…but an open fronted one adds a good level of interest / deatail of construction a
That isn’t obvious with the closed one.

If I’d only built one…I’d feel cheated later on.

Easy enough to make a few mats and scatter about.   I have some clay pots that could pass as cous cous pots too to dot about.    I found some carpets and a pouf from alternative minis that are easily added in…

You are most welcome…quite enjoyed it!

A few hours sat in my conservatory and they are bone dry enough for priming…..will get them painted this week.   In the meantime, I picked up a couple of foam cans from Poundland…so I am going to finish the second escarpment and build a corner of the table rock piece to match those done.  Hopefully over the next few weeks, the palms will arrive and I can set myself to an oasis too.   The DAK figures are nearly all at the everything coloured and washed stage too,  so I will finish them off with detailing and highlights in smaller batches.

Edit:

Corner piece and standing piece ready for foam.. the corner piece will have a nice rock stair case in the cling face…..very pulpy!

Other small orders placed for a missing support section from Artizan, including a few more sentries for raid games, as well as half a dozen Arabs to dot about their camp.

I also ordered an IG18 from warlord along with three camels with loads to complete the camel train.

Jamie is on with painting the first batch of DAK support vehicles so this is looking in good shape!

I now have my eyes on a few pink panthers……LRDG….oh yes!

Personally I like them……I still need to sort out some rugs for the inside but they are coming.

Lovely job David.
I would be very tempted to add 'stitching' (with a fine indelible black pen)
to the 'patches', but then I ain't gotten off my posterior & made any tents yet.

I can live with it as is mate…but feel free! Lol.  Hell…why not go the whole hog and use a needle and thread? 😉

Edit:

Couldn’t wait for rugs to arrive via snail mail so made my own.   If the nice looking rugs arrive and I like them, I can throw them over the top of these anyway.

Impressive.  Where did you find the pottery and basket?  I have not seen those before.

I can’t remember…but the four pot arrangement is a resin print.

What might I ask is a DAK project?

Awesome tents by the way.
