Programmed Wargame Scenarios by Grant.
« on: December 03, 2022, 03:16:15 PM »
I am playing tjhrough scenario 1 of Charles S. Grants revised Prograammed Wargame Scenarios, which involves red army trying to dislodge blue army from a low ridge.

The scenarios are multi-period enabled, so for this game, I have employed Wars of the Roses figures.

I have put some detail up on the blog as to how the programmed scenario works and included a short AAR.

That’s an excellent report posted on your blog, and lots of pics of your armies in action!

I appreciate the walk-through of the pre-game sequence using Programmed Scenarios. I have the book, but haven’t played using it yet, so it’s helpful to see how it works.

I enjoyed the report on the game, too. It looked for a while there like the Red army was going to impersonate the French at Agincourt! The programmed responses seemed to do a good job making the game more than a simple “play both sides” solo match, which is great!

Fascinating report.  The original book was one of my favourites and this expanded version sounds interesting.

It's a great book. I have used it for many games over the years.
I have a bad case of prescient nostalgia. The future's not what it used to be.
