pacarat’s mammoth Mammoth Hunt
« on: 16 December 2022, 04:27:24 AM »
Ran this at a local con last month.

One of the band’s dogs was tossed by a mammoth high up onto the rocks… to the great enjoyment of all.

Great looking table and hunt.

Are those tar pits on fire?  If so, idea promptly stolen!  And if not, idea still stolen.

We may not both have great minds, but we think somewhat alike - I have even more mammoths than you do!  But not yet painted.  And lots more other animals besides.  What I lack - though I have some figures to try and adapt - is enough female cave folk.  Some manufacturer really needs to fill in that gap in 15 mm - and young folk, too.  One of the few things I would still buy if made.  What would be really cool is both Homo Sapien cave folk and Neantherdal cave folk - but a bit hard to differentiate in 15 mm maybe.

I have a visceral need to know the rules you are using - especially if they allow a dog to get tossed up onto a mountain.

Truly stunning setup.  Very jealous that yours is already playable.

Please share your rules and any modifications used to make the game work.

Oh, my mind? It is a bit more on the slightly twisted side than the 'great' side.  But the twists are generally benign and harmless - except on the tabletop.

A friend of mine used to run dino and mammoth hunt style games for us, too. They were always fun. What rules do you use? I couldn't get a good look at any of the cards and such in the photos.

Great looking game!

Thanks much for the positive remarks. Been out of pocket for the last few weeks, been swamped with RL junk. Looking forward to some hobby goodness in the new year.

Rules are a mix of commercial and homegrown. They get tweaked every time I run a game…

Glad to see you back.  Can you at least identify the rules you are using, even if more than one set?  I guess we'll all have to take our chances with our own mashups and modifications.
