Messing around with Wargames Atlantic Partisans
« on: 18 December 2022, 04:49:50 AM »
Partisans you say? well, in truth they are little more than regular civilian with guns, perfect substitutes for gangster and such. But my mission was different before it went wildly off the tracks. I wanted to build Partisans (having recently begun playing 02 Hundred Hours by Grey For Now Games. When I opened the box the Great Waster of Time overcame me and I started fiddling around to see what I could create. Suddenly this happened!

The ease of conversion makes every adventure in building plastics a battle of self-control (of which I have precious little).
You can see the whole process here  https://antonswargame.blogspot.com/2022/12/and-then-partisans-showed-up.html

Ha!  If you were using 15 mm figures you could go buy the new figures from Khurasan Miniatures and get both Junior and Senior ready made.  See here:

The oversized dude on the right is a jungle-ly sort of dude - and a bit of a misfit in the range but what the heck.  He's part of the order I am sending in soon.  [For those who do like the 15 mm, check out the Chaco Wars figures under the historical 'umbrella' at Khurasan, make some nice 1930's additions - even if not used as intended.]

Okay, Anton, your work is superb but I thought I'd toss this at you.  Heck, might give you ideas on how to convert Senior.

A great conversion!

Now you just need a box of Afrika Korps and you can have a Pulp version of 02 hundred hours. Your terrain boards would work for this.

Fred, you tempt me!
I even have a wacky Nazi airplane to act as eye-candy (note that this was a REAL aircraft, not a studio mock-up)

Cool plane.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Just planting the seeds, though it feels they may be landing on fertile ground!

That plane is bonkers, I assume it was trying to give the pilot very good visibility for reconnaissance?

The Blohm und Voss BV-141 was made in tiny quantities.  Yes it was designed for reconnaissance but the more conventional FW 189  was chosen instead.

Thanks for the links - I wasn’t aware of the FW189 even though it was used in decent quantities

A.  Love the chaps with the bullwhip.  I made up a bunch of modern-ish armed civilians from one of my WA Resistance boxes.

B.  How does that plane even fly??? :o

CapnJim,
By all accounts it was a very mild aircraft. It just took a LOT of getting used to. In most aircraft the pilot sits on the centerline and somewhere near the center of Gravity, adjusting to being off-center in BOTH directions took a good bit of traning.

Being engine asymetric and having an off-centre aileron must have caused issues with turning as well.
