Nice!  8)

Will they also have some sort of markings, like their company logo, or some big numbers? I find those really finish off good models and make them great :)

I love the background story; very Battletech indeed...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

As much as I would like to, the mini's are to small for that and both are outside of my skillset.

...So, you've been playing HBS Battletech computer game too then, huh? ;) They look very nice, well done.

It's a good suggestion though, and you could do it easily enough with a couple of well-chosen transfers perhaps? The sort you get with historical tanks/planes are quite good for this, and have lots of suitably small numbers and symbols that you could use. :)

Exactly that  :)

My days of painting litanies on Space Marine shoulder pad rims are over, so I do use decals for a lot of applications that might otherwise be too fiddly. And Battletech unit markings are just such a thing. I should have clarified that a bit more I suppose...

Flip's Irregular's have managed to cobble together enough parts and equipment to field a third Lance alongside the Urbanmech. A BJ-3 Blackjack, a WHM-6R Warhammer and a FS9-M2 Firestarter.

The Firestarter is an odd one, as its an old metal miniature I found in a drawer, and upon research, its a Dark Age era mech that wasn't created until 3104 which makes it useless for anything set before.  :'(

Prototype  ;)

Great additions! 3 lances form an understrength company; their rrputation must be growing...

Lookin' good.

I can't help but laugh at the revolution that Battletech has had.  I've been complaining (not loudly) for maybe 10-15 years that Battletech was absolute garbage because they had horribly sculpted/cast metal minis which cost an arm and a leg, or old ugly plastics.  I couldn't think of an IP more suited to a simple line of nice plastic miniatures.

People used to call me out and complain because they loved their ugly Iron Wind metals, and that Battletech was "so good" it didn't need nice minis, etc.

Amusing how Catalyst finally figured out how to produce some solid plastic minis (using mainly MWO digital sculpting) and imagine that...they are running wild and have another massively successful Kickstarter.   lol

Well being in the UK I've always found Battletech a difficult game/series/setting to get into. Starter sets were never readily available it seemed, Ral Partha has a vast selection of wonky metal mini's and the only exposure I had to it growing up was Mechwarrior 2 on PS1 and the cartoon.

It was thanks to Tex Talks Battletech and the 2018 Battletech video game that I gained more knowledge and intreast in the setting. Still finding it difficult to source newer minis in the UK tho. Always seem to be out of stock or that same lance packs.

Have you looked on Etsy?

While Catalyst uses the same designs - the folks behind Mechwarrior Online put all of their digital models up for free-use, so everyone with a 3D printer can print off quality models for cheap.  There are numerous sellers on Etsy (at least in the United States) which will sell you a custom printed lance for like $16.  Worth a look.

I started collecting Battletech again a year or two ago and was pretty happy with the handful of printed mechs I picked up (that was before I ditched it...again).

Only picture I have of the printed lance (I had others that weren't painted).

Definitely worth researching, you can find all of the models available.

Well, to be fair, the Firestarter model is based on the Wizkids version of the classic Firestarter.  Firestarters have been around forever.

https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Firestarter_(BattleMech)

So think of it as a cobbled together version of a Firestarter with the Mercenary penchant for customizing their mechs.

I managed to find a local (ish) store that stocks some Battletech, unfortunately its repeats of the same few boxes, but still, mechs are mechs. I picked up the Wolf's Dragoon's Assault Star and painted them up as the Dragoon's Epsilon Regiment.

Left to right we have BJ-2 Blackjack, RFL-3N Rifleman, ARC-2W Archer, ANH-2A Annihilator and the Mad Cat / Timber Wolf Pride.

I'm looking at getting hold of some decals, stay tuned.
