Looking good Doc, i like the Navy idea.

For gas masks i would use http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=126_149&products_id=1139 from west wind with a pipe made from guitar wire/string or made from putty to the small box respirator bag.
