Thanks Chairface!

DivisMal — yes, you could say that. The Killer pops up in a cinematic way while the player characters “walk around” as per usual in miniatures games. When the Killer does show up, you roll for movement on a d10 and add a number of inches equal to the number of Fright tokens on the targeted victim. So sometimes (seemingly rarely) the Killer won’t actually get close enough to attack the victim, making for exciting close calls.

Mow that’s actually a cool idea for all kinds of horror games. The werewolf, the alien, the vampire…they all stalk their victims eluding the laws of physics and logics!

I’m interested now. This might be useful also with my collection.

For sure you could use any minis you like. The Killer is made up of:

(1) a “visage” — this is the core aspect, including number of wounds and attack profiles

(2) the “MO” — this is how the Killer comes onto the board and who the Killer targets

(3) a number of (generally 3) “Traits” — little details to tweak the Killer’s behavior/capabilities

You can combine these randomly or choose them all to “conjure” the Killer for your game. The scenarios have a suggested Killed but the main rules seem to assume you will do it randomly during play. But the takeaway of mai  interest for you is that you can use the options provided to create a wide range of Killer types.

There are no player character creation rules in the core set or expansions so far but it wouldn’t be very tough to make some custom characters. I think the game will be most enjoyable if the player characters remain ordinary people rather than heroic, however.

Thanks! That sounds pretty cool.
Yeah, agree, it’s not the game for Buffy the Vampire Huntress (I’ve got Kooky Teenage Monster Hunters for that), but from the Nostromo over the Werewolf in the Victorian Mansion I can see a lot of potential.
I’ll have to check if they sell the rules as a pdf…

Thank you, gents!

I haven’t played it solo but — as it is fully cooperative — it would play as well solo as with multiple players.
