You get so much 'virtual' space with 6mm that I think you may as well put a few vignettes into the terrain to add a bit of interest. Even figure bases can represent a fair area of terrain in scale terms.

Your collection gets more impressive with every look.

I'm thinking of doing 30YW on big bases like Pete from Baccus is showcasing now.

Thanks. I did some 30YW for a customer last year on large-ish bases. These are 100 infantry on a 125mm x 60mm base.

Added a few more bases. A unit of Sudanese spears (for future Fatimids), and a unit of Armenian infantry. The latter are made up of a mix of Byzantine spears and Arab spears with a few Frankish spears sprinkled in. Some more Seljuk Ghilman and Arab cavalry at the back. Hopefully get a game in over the next week or so.

Those are beautiful! Your 6mm projects are among the best I have seen using miniatures that size.

Reacquainting myself with Shattered Lances with the Battle of Nicaea 1097. Kilij Arslan rushes to relieve the defenders of his city of Nicaea from a crusader siege. Raymond of Toulouse and Baldwin of Boulogne have just taken up position to the south of the city when the Seljuks attack.

Battle of Nicaea ended with a Frankish victory. Allied commands are prone to running away when things start to go bad, and that's what happened to Kilij Arslan's army. It was a perennial problem for Seljuk armies whose commanders were at best suspicious of, or at worst hated, their commander-in-chief. Took a while to get the hang of Shattered Lances after a long break, and I think I need to add some stuff to the QRS, but otherwise it worked well. Couple more action shots from the battle:

Packing away meant an opportunity to re-organise the boxes. So the inevitable group photos followed.
