Israeli/Egyptian Infantry Company TO&Es for Yom Kippur?
« on: March 03, 2023, 09:45:09 PM »
Finding accurate TO&Es for Israeli and Egyptian infantry companies seems to be one of the most frustrating searches in wargaming.  Answers to questions like:
Did each squad have a LMG?  Or was that a platoon of company responsibility?
Did each squad have a man packed AT weapon?  Or, was it, again, a platoon or company thing?
How many men in a squad?
How many squads to a platoon?
How many platoons to a company?
What assets would company HQ have?
My reading suggests that both armies were 3-3-3.  3 squads to a platoon, 3 platoons to a company, and an HQ company.
My reading also suggests that the Egyptians had RPGs in each squad, but the Israelis did not have bazookas in theirs.  The bazookas were at a higher level (which level?  how many bazooka teams?).
The Eqyptians had alot of saggers.  But at what level?  Company? Battalion?  If Battalion, were such attached to first line troops?

Needless to say, all of this can have quite an impact on how troops handle things, especially armor.
My reading hints at both sides still being very hush hush about specific details, even 50 years later.

Anyone out there have information, ideas or good sources?
