Finally out.. 1/56 M-24 Chaffee
« on: October 28, 2009, 08:01:37 PM »
Final have painted pics of our latest model, after a crammed 3 hour paint session to prep instructions and packaging for Fall In here in the U.S.  This is another of those "personal favorites"  so I need to sculpt it now models, that hopefully translates into other folks wanting/needing it as well!  I spent more time on this master, cramming in details and I must have redone the hull master two or three times (as I was too eager and kept getting the measurements off.)  We recently got the castings back from JTFM...which are drop dead gorgeous.  All the details, hand grabs, etc are "cast on"  you can see in the unpainted shot.  The model resin pieces are 2 parts.  Hull and turret!  then just two tracks, and the guns/tools.

Thanks to Mike Broadbent for the lovely sculpts on the metal tracks.

What's next?
Just waiting on just the CAD design aided metal bits for the:
Mercedes G3A truck
M29 Weasel
Japanese Type 94 tankette and trailer

Jeff at JTFM has perfected the art of casting resin detail at an astonishing level. So the model shot you see unpainted, is pretty much out of box.  Almost no work is needed on the castings, other than a quick wash.

That should be a great vehicle for French in Indochina in the 1950's, late WW2, or actions against alien landings in the '40's and '50's.  Fabulous looking!

Indochina French are in the 100 Club from Eureka miniatures.  Sign up for a fistful and you never know what might happen!

I think Eureka already make them in 15mm.
