that was the fashan in Ireland at the time.  ::)
It is thought to be influenced by the old houppelande long sleeved fashion.

This was the fashion in Ireland and the Highlands/Isles of Scotland in the 15th-16th centuries.  It's called a Leine and it is 100% accurate.  Only thing I find daft about this is your comment as I would have expected someone who sculpts Japanese architecture to be a bit more sympathetic towards impractical sleeves as these are virtually identical to many forms of kimono worn around the same time. lol

Oh, believe me, I think some of the Japanese fashions of the sengoku period daft as well  lol
