Basing question...
« on: 03 April 2023, 03:03:55 PM »
I always base figures kind of like,  my little men are in a grassy field/meadow setting. I recently gleaned a set of Arnhem Airborne, they're based in rubble, bricks and burned floorboards. Do you have to scratch this stuff, or is there a handy product/bottle of gloop to slop on with all the ingredients?

I scratch it, using sprue bricks (little brick/half-brick shapes chopped off old sprues), rough sand and random bits of wire and/or splinters off plasticard or lolly sticks. You can't go wrong just dry brushing it mucky and lobbing on a load of ground up chalk or pastel as dust.

You can probably get urban warfare-style bases, but I'm not sure how an integral base could sit in that. Besides, it's fun!

Saw this on Feebay, though it might be useful:

@ Cubs: That pack Howitzer base is superb, as are the figures.
