Front Rank WSS
« on: 04 April 2023, 09:13:44 PM »
I'm working on some Van Dyck 144th scale figures, but boy they are so tiny. So something a little more in my comfort zone - the first of a batch of Front Rank minis. This is a bit of a one off for the moment and to get a feel for the period. Some Horse and Bavarian infantry next up. 1st Foot Guards Grenadier.

Lovely figures, and a joy to paint.

Very nice work!  :o
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Wow, isn’t he splendid!

With the 1/144th figures - it is often better to think about painting units, rather than individuals - some of the small sculpts can have so much detail that trying to paint all of it becomes impractical, and you will find most of that detail then can’t really be seen.

I've painted many Front Rank WSS figs.  They really are gorgeous.  And they are so easy to paint.

Outstanding brushwork. Your army is going to look spectacular.

Cheers guys for the kind words

Outstanding brushwork. Your army is going to look spectacular.

I'm just painting for fun here, so no army is likely to see a table. I do have enough figures for a Bavarian Regiment, but it will likely end up as a display unit only.

Well, what you have done so far looks grand.  Particularly for 1/144 scale figures...
