By Crom Its Conan part 2 - The Garrison phase
« on: April 17, 2023, 08:03:03 AM »
Attack last year was the Minifigs phase, 13 May at Legionary, Exeter, UK sees Pt 2 the Garrison phase, as once again a slightly different Conan units Western forces against the invading evil sorcerer To-Me-Kupa. A small game using the Fantastic Battles rules and Garrison S&S range from the 70s. Currently having a muster in the shed to tweak numbers and terrain.

Is that the Fantastic Battles by Nick Wright you used? These: https://www.wargamevault.com/product/334554/Fantastic-Battles

Love the way you say small battle - for many of us I think that would be large.

Awesome looking epic battle - very envious.

Great stuff! The kind of battle I like with lots of figures. And figures that I have in my collection.

Was the chap on the palanquin a Garrison set? If so I missed out.

Yes he is, Rob Young also did me a few ivory bearers to go with the Queen. Have you seen his Eastern Garrison blog? https://easterngarrison.blogspot.com/p/garrison-s-range-original.html
Send him an email, he has been very helpful.

That’s an amazing spectacle! So many beautiful models in both armies.

I’m very interested to hear about how Fantastic Battles works for games of that size. I’m planning to use those rules for my own games (but in a much more modest scope).

Thanks, we have used them for some good sized battles. Last July at Attack Devizes we did a similar sized game, 2 of us, the other had not played the rules before! A trial game, and the figures were from the Minifigs S&S range!

Great looking battles. All fantasy battle should look epic in scale and might.

I was hoping to get along to the show as we are in Devon at the end or April for 10 days, but I will be coming home too early. Did the date have to move because of the coronation?

How do the minifigs and Garrison compare? Ihave plenty of Garrison but there are a few of the minifig poses I quite like.
