I put on my "Google" and from all the images I found, he was either dressed all in black with black holster and hat or all in blue with brown holster and black hat.

I think my all-time favorite cowboy actors were Jack Elam and James Garner.  It's eye-opening to watch some of the old shows and films and see young no-name actors who later became very well-known celebrities.
