Much nicer pics! Definitely on my wish list.  I have a similar set of musicians in 54mm from Phoenix.  It's interesting that cellos from this period were simply held off the ground.  Nowadays, they have that central spike that extends to alter the height.

Take the seated Bach figure and a suitable oar or paddle and you can have an 18th C gent rowing a boat or poling a punt.

The Voltaire figure is glorious. I've always been fond of his dying words. Asked by an attendant priest whether he woud renounce the devil, Voltaire replied  'this is no time to be making enemies'. 

Must ask Nic whether he would contemplate a Candide set, Pangloss, Cunegonde etc etc. That would be fun.

You'd have to have a few Cunegondes. Young, beautiful, old, haggish, two buttocks, one buttock etc etc.

Maybe a garden set for the conclusion?

I picked all of them up at Fall In along with my new order of French cavalry and ragged artillery for the French Revolution range. If anything they are even better in the flesh. My friend already suggested a use for them in Sharp Practice games. One of the musicians is a spy and has an important message in code hidden in his sheet music!

That reminds me a Nicolas Le Floch's adventure... Nicolas is a 18th century french policeman in a serie of novels written by Jean-François Parot.
